A long run... on the road

Last week, I did a long run. Something that happens... well, once a week. But, this time, I went back to my first love: the road. It has not happened in a while. Distance runs were done on the trails. So, last week, I just started off happy and carefree. But, while on the road, some obvious (general or personal) points came back to my mind.

1 month before go time

Wednesday morning, like usual before a run, I took a glance at my watch before launching the satellites search. I could read: 8 OCT. In a month, I'll launch the satellites search to run my first marathon, the Santa Barbara Marathon. My thoughts, a month before go time.

A run in my head

"Running is great! I LOVE running sssooo much! I am flying. I could run for hours." That's my thoughts while running... except... no, it's NOT!

Why do we sign up for races?

Running, we like it or not. We can run just for fun, on the week end. We can run more often without getting the idea of signing up for races. So, why do we decide to sign up for a first race, and why to we carry on doing it?
