Santa Barbara Marathon, S01E03: stretching

Stretching. Every runner heard about it. For sure. We don't always do it. Count me in! It actually changed as I decided to read and learn more about it. I started with one set of muscles, then another. I spoke about it a little, here: Speedwork: stretching the hamstrings. Step by step, I built my own set of exercises. For the Santa Barbara Marathon training, I chose from it and created a "post long run stretching routine". I share it with you.

Recovery yoga for runners

In the USA, the long week-end of the 4th of July is behind us. In France, the long week-end is just ahead as, Monday, it's the 14th of July. For runners, long week-end often means long run. Long week-end or not, we always need a nice stretch to fight the familiar muscle pain and soreness which go with long run. Here, you go!

Speedwork: stretching the hamstrings

This week, I did lots of (maybe too many ?) speedwork sessions. My legs let me know it was too much, and more specifically, the back of my thighs: the hamstrings. What to do to loosen them up and avoid stiffness? Stretching!
